Bay Area deathcore with a bottomless low end and breakdowns that arrive like a door being kicked in — no melody, no mercy.
Spite formed in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2014, fronted by vocalist Darius Tehrani. The band works in deathcore, drawing on beatdown hardcore and slam as much as on death metal, with heavily down-tuned guitars, blast beats and songs structured to arrive at a breakdown. Tehrani's vocals move between low gutturals and higher shrieks. Beginning as a self-released project, Spite built an audience through streaming before signing to a label and expanding into regular international touring.
