PeelingFlesh are a slam death metal band from Oklahoma, formed in 2021. Their music combines the down-tuned, mid-paced breakdowns and guttural vocals of brutal death metal with rhythmic and stylistic touches borrowed from hip-hop, a combination that found an audience quickly through online video and streaming platforms.

Song titles and artwork follow the gore-oriented conventions of the slam subgenre. The band emerged alongside a wider wave of younger groups reworking those templates for listeners who found the style through the internet rather than through the underground tape and CD circuit.
