Paleface Swiss formed in Switzerland in 2017 and have become one of the more visible European bands working in beatdown hardcore and deathcore. Their music is built around slow, heavily downtuned riffing, abrupt tempo drops and breakdowns designed for pit response, with vocals that lean toward guttural, distorted shouting rather than conventional screaming. The band draws on slamming deathcore as much as hardcore, and their recorded output tends to favour short, blunt tracks over extended arrangements. They have built their audience largely through touring and online circulation, and are frequently cited when the current wave of European heavy bands is discussed.
