Upon A Burning Body formed in San Antonio, Texas in 2005, fronted by vocalist Danny Leal. The band's music sits between deathcore and metalcore, built on downtuned, groove-oriented riffing and breakdowns, with a Texan and Latino identity that surfaces in artwork, lyrics and stage presentation.
Several of their albums take their themes and track titles from films, including The World Is My Enemy Now and Red. They have released records through Sumerian Records and toured extensively across the United States and Europe, with Leal remaining the constant member through a number of lineup changes.
