Suicide Silence formed in Riverside, California in 2002 and became one of the central bands in deathcore's rise in the late 2000s, combining death metal blast beats and tremolo riffing with breakdowns and metalcore structures. Albums including The Cleansing and No Time to Bleed established their profile. Vocalist Mitch Lucker died in a motorcycle accident in 2012; the band continued with Hernan "Eddie" Hermida, formerly of All Shall Perish, and has kept recording and touring since.
