Knoxville deathcore that grew genuinely melodic without losing any of the weight underneath — Phil Bozeman's range now the band's superpower.

Whitechapel was founded in Knoxville, Tennessee in February 2006 by vocalist Phil Bozeman and guitarist Ben Savage, soon joined by guitarist Alex Wade, bassist Gabe Crisp and a drummer. The band took its name from the Whitechapel district of London, where Jack the Ripper committed his murders. After original guitarist Brandon Cagle left following a motorcycle accident, Zach Householder replaced him, and that guitar line-up has remained constant since 2007.
