Dutch producer and Protocol Recordings founder whose big-room progressive house broke wide with 'Toulouse' and the Avicii team-up 'I Could Be the One' — festival-scale melody, built in the studio first.

Nicky Romero is the stage name of Nick Rotteveel, a Dutch DJ and producer born in 1989. He emerged in the early 2010s wave of Dutch progressive and big-room house, with the instrumental "Toulouse" and "I Could Be the One," a collaboration with Avicii, becoming the tracks most associated with him. He has also produced and remixed for other artists working in the same commercial dance field.

In 2012 he launched Protocol Recordings, which releases his own music alongside records from other producers in the progressive house and electro area, and he has kept up a steady schedule of club and arena DJ dates.
