Nostalgix is an Iranian-Canadian producer and DJ based in Vancouver. She writes and performs the vocals on much of her own material, rapping and chanting hooks over bass house and tech-leaning club tracks, which gives her records a more song-shaped feel than most functional dancefloor fare. The result sits close to the harder end of house — heavy low end, blunt drum patterns — with her voice used as a lead instrument rather than a sample. She performs as a DJ, often working her own vocals into the mix live.
