The sibling trio behind "If I Die Young" — harmony-forward country pop with a gothic streak.

Kimberly Perry began performing as a teenager with her younger brothers, Neil and Reid, working first as her roadies before joining her onstage as an opening act billed as the Mobile Music Machines when they were eight and ten. The three eventually united under one name and toured together through the South for years before signing a deal.

In 2008 Garth Brooks' manager, Bob Doyle, heard their recordings and passed them to Scott Borchetta at the newly formed Republic Nashville. The trio signed in August 2009 and released their first single, "Hip to My Heart," which the three had written together.

Kimberly sings lead, with her brothers on mandolin, bass and other strings, and their self-titled 2010 debut paired close family harmony with country-pop production. "If I Die Young" became the breakout, reaching number one on the country and adult-contemporary charts and later earning a Diamond certification for its dark, folk-gothic imagery.

Their second album, Pioneer, produced further number-one singles in "Better Dig Two" and "Done," alongside top-ten hits "Don't Let Me Be Lonely" and "Chainsaw," recorded with producers including Rick Rubin and Dann Huff.

The trio moved away from country toward pop starting in 2017, releasing music independently before going on hiatus, after which Kimberly returned to her country roots for a solo career.
