The Bug Club are a trio from Caldicot in south Wales, formed in 2016 around the songwriting partnership of Sam Willmett and Tilly Harris, who share vocals. Their songs are short, direct and often funny, built on jangling guitar, simple basslines and call-and-response singing, with a debt to the Velvet Underground, early Jonathan Richman and the more deadpan end of British indie.
The band records prolifically, issuing albums and EPs at a rate well above the usual pace, first through smaller labels and later for Sub Pop.
