Yelawolf is the stage name of Michael Wayne Atha, a rapper from Gadsden, Alabama. He broke through with the mixtape Trunk Muzik and signed to Shady Records, releasing Radioactive and Love Story. His delivery pairs rapid, tightly syllabic verses with a heavy Southern accent, and his records draw openly on country, rockabilly and Southern rock alongside trap production. He collaborated with Ed Sheeran on the EP The Slumdon Bridge and with Travis Barker on Psycho White. Slumerican, the brand and label he founded, covers his music, clothing and a wider aesthetic rooted in working-class Alabama imagery.
