Biffy Clyro

1 festival played

Scotland's shirtless festival warriors — knotty math-rock instincts wired to enormous singalong choruses.

Biffy Clyro formed in Kilmarnock, Scotland, in 1995 and consist of Simon Neil on guitar and vocals alongside twin brothers James and Ben Johnston on bass and drums. Their early records were built on angular time signatures and abrupt structural shifts, closer to post-hardcore and math rock than to the mainstream. From Puzzle onward the band moved toward broader, more melodic arrangements without abandoning the odd meters, and songs such as "Many of Horror" and "Mountains" brought them a large audience in the UK.

They have long been a fixture of British rock bills, performing as a trio with the members frequently playing barefoot and shirtless.
