Nashville five-piece devoted to 1950s bluegrass, Don Reno and the Stanley Brothers by way of Jeremy Stephens and fiddler Corrina Rose Logston.
High Fidelity formed in Nashville in 2014 around Jeremy Stephens, who plays banjo and guitar and sings, and fiddler Corrina Rose Logston Stephens. The band works from records made between roughly 1950 and 1960, drawing on Don Reno and Red Smiley, the Stanley Brothers and other first-generation acts, including material that fell out of circulation. Stephens plays Reno-style banjo closely, and the group's vocal trios and instrumental voicings follow the period sources rather than modern bluegrass practice. Their recordings mix obscure covers with originals written in the same idiom.
