james K is the recording name of Jamie Krasner, a New York-based musician who works between ambient, club music and pop. Her records treat the voice as a texture as much as a lead instrument, running vocals through reverb, pitch-shifting and layering until phrases blur into the surrounding synthesiser haze.

Songs tend to hint at conventional pop shapes — a hook, a refrain, a repeated line — without fully resolving into them, and the production leaves a lot of empty, echoing space. She has also worked as a collaborator and vocalist with other electronic producers.
