Irish DJ and vocalist whose warm, piano-led dance records went from club tool to chart fixture very quickly — 'Giving Me' the breakout.
Jazzy is a singer and DJ from Drogheda in County Louth, Ireland, born Yasmine Byrne in 1996. She began playing club sets before her own vocal-led productions reached a wider audience, working in a piano house and dance-pop tradition built on bright chords, four-to-the-floor drums and a sung rather than sampled lead.
She first performed as Jazzy Yaz, a member of the Dublin outfit Powerful Creative Minds, releasing tracks including "Baby Maybe," "Vivid Dreams" and the EP #39 through 2020 and 2021 before stepping out as a solo artist and dropping the surname.
Her breakthrough came as featured vocalist on Belters Only's "Make Me Feel Good" in 2021, which reached number four in the UK and topped the Irish singles chart, the first Irish dance act to do so since Mark McCabe's "Maniac 2000." The pair followed it with "Don't Stop Just Yet" in 2022.
Her 2023 solo debut "Giving Me" went to number three in the UK and number one in Ireland, making her the first Irish solo female act to top that chart since Julie-Anne Dineen and the first Irish woman to reach number one on Spotify. Further singles "Shooting Star," "Feel It," "Zeros" and "Somedays" followed, alongside continued DJ work, including 2025's mix release Gewah Selects.
