Southern California's most efficient punk band — two-minute songs, enormous hooks, and sets that are over before you've settled in.

Joyce Manor formed in Torrance, California in 2008 around Barry Johnson and Chase Knobbe. Their self-titled debut arrived in 2011, followed by Of All Things I Will Soon Grow Tired, Never Hungover Again, Cody, Million Dollars to Kill Me and 40 oz. to Fresno. Songs such as "Constant Headache" became fixtures of the band's catalogue and of 2010s American punk more broadly.

The writing draws on pop punk, emo and power pop, with songs that rarely stretch past two or three minutes and albums that often run under half an hour. Johnson's lyrics deal in small domestic details, awkwardness and Southern California specifics, delivered plainly over fast, melodic guitar parts.
