Maria Somerville is a musician from Connemara in the west of Ireland, now based between there and Dublin. She self-released her debut album, All My People, in 2019, a record of slow, reverb-heavy songs built from guitar, synth and layered vocals, sung in both English and Irish. She later signed to 4AD, a label whose ambient-leaning dream-pop lineage her work sits comfortably within. Somerville also works as a DJ and radio presenter, and her sets and productions share the same unhurried, atmospheric quality.
