Mohamed Ramadan built his career first as a screen actor in Egypt, taking lead roles in action films and Ramadan television dramas that made him a household name across the Arab world. He moved into music in the mid-2010s, recording pop singles that borrow the tempo and vocal delivery of Cairo's mahraganat scene while adding trap drums and English-language guest verses. He performs in white suits and gold chains, plays up the tough-guy persona from his film work, and has been at the centre of several public disputes with Egyptian unions and commentators.
