Two decades of inescapable radio — Songs About Jane craft under a stadium-pop machine.

Maroon 5 came together in Los Angeles in 2001, evolving out of the earlier band Kara's Flowers, with Adam Levine on vocals and guitar. Their debut, Songs About Jane, established the group's core sound: funk- and soul-inflected pop rock built on tight rhythm playing and Levine's falsetto. Over subsequent albums the band moved steadily towards contemporary pop and dance-pop production, working with outside writers and producers and collaborating with hip-hop and R&B artists. The result has been a long run of radio singles across two decades, and a live show scaled for arenas and stadiums.
