Seamus Fogarty grew up in County Mayo, Ireland, and later settled in London, where he has made records that sit between traditional Irish song and electronic production. His albums include God Damn You Mountain, The Curious Hand and A Bag of Eyes, the latter two released by Domino.

Fogarty writes in a conversational, often deadpan style, and builds arrangements from acoustic guitar, fiddle and accordion alongside field recordings, tape manipulation and programmed rhythms. The results tend to be songs that begin recognisably as folk before drifting into looser, more processed territory. He has also worked as a sound engineer, which shows in the detail of his mixes.
