The Cannons are three members of one Nashville songwriting family. Buddy Cannon has spent decades in town as a producer and songwriter, working on records for Kenny Chesney and George Strait among others and co-writing extensively with Willie Nelson, whose later albums he produced. His daughters both work in the same trade: Melonie Cannon sings on the bluegrass and acoustic side of town, and Marla Cannon-Goodman writes. Together the three play the songs from the writing room, with the stories about how they were cut.
