Tyler Hubbard is a country singer and songwriter from Monroe, Georgia. He met Brian Kelley while both were students at Belmont University in Nashville, and the two formed Florida Georgia Line, whose single "Cruise" became one of the defining country radio hits of the 2010s and helped popularise the genre's overlap with hip-hop and pop production. Hubbard co-wrote much of the duo's catalogue.

After the duo went on hiatus, he began releasing music under his own name, working in a more straightforward and personal register while keeping the melodic, radio-oriented approach of his earlier work.
