Whiskey Myers

1 festival played

East Texas band whose southern rock runs far heavier than anything on country radio, built into a serious live draw by years of relentless touring.

Whiskey Myers formed in East Texas in the mid-2000s, built around singer and songwriter Cody Cannon. The group works in a southern rock idiom more than a Nashville one: twin guitars, slide, organ and a rhythm section that leans hard into blues-rock, with lyrics rooted in small-town Texas life. Early records were made with producer Dave Cobb, and the band spent years building an audience through constant touring rather than country radio.

Their profile widened considerably after their music was used in the television series Yellowstone, which introduced the band to a much larger listenership. They have continued to release albums independently while remaining primarily known as a live act.
