Chevy Metal is a Los Angeles covers band formed in 2012 by drummer Taylor Hawkins of Foo Fighters, alongside bassist Wiley Hodgden and guitarist Brent Woods. The group played classic rock and hard rock material — Van Halen, Queen, Rush, Cheap Trick and similar — largely in small Southern California venues, with Hawkins frequently stepping out from behind the kit to sing.
Guest musicians dropped in regularly, and the band's repertoire ran deeper than the standard covers-set fare. Following Hawkins's death in 2022, the surviving members have continued to perform the material as a tribute to him.
