Davido

1 festival played

One of the defining voices of Afrobeats' global decade — celebratory, horn-forward records built for very large crowds, delivered with a superstar's easy command.

Davido is the Nigerian singer and producer David Adeleke, born in 1992 in Atlanta and raised largely in Lagos. He broke through in the early 2010s with "Dami Duro" and has remained one of Afrobeats' most visible figures since, releasing songs including "If", "Fall", "Fia" and "Assurance" and running the DMW label, which has helped launch other Nigerian artists.

His records lean toward the celebratory: bright horn lines, log-drum and percussion patterns, and choruses pitched for large audiences, sung in a mix of English, Yoruba and Nigerian Pidgin. Later albums such as A Better Time and Timeless brought in international collaborators while keeping the production rooted in Lagos studios.
