DJ Boring is the recording name of Tristan Hallis, an Australian-born producer and DJ who became associated with the lo-fi house wave of the mid-2010s after relocating to London. The alias began as a joke, and the records that followed were built from warm, filtered loops, vocal samples and drum machines with an audible layer of tape hiss.

He is best known for "Winona," a track that circulated widely online and helped define the sound of that period. His sets lean on nineties house and garage touchstones rather than contemporary club trends, and his productions generally favour repetition and atmosphere over big structural turns.
