I.U.D. is a New York duo of Lizzi Bougatsos and Sadie Laska. Bougatsos is also the vocalist of Gang Gang Dance and a visual artist who has shown work in gallery settings; Laska has played in Growing. The pair work mainly with drums, percussion and voice, running the results through effects and electronics, and their recordings and performances sit closer to free noise and improvisation than to conventional rock structures. The project has released material through small independent labels and has often appeared in art spaces as well as music venues.
