Lo-fi house graduate turned rave heavyweight — Jordon Alexander's peak-time pressure, from blog-house hiss to full warehouse assault.

Mall Grab is the recording name of Jordon Alexander, born in 1994 and raised in Newcastle, New South Wales, before he later based himself in the UK. The stage name comes from a skateboarding term for gripping a board incorrectly. He grew up around his parents' rock and roll records before electronic music took over as his main interest.

His early records were rough, sample-driven lo-fi house, built on hissy loops and blunt drum programming. That sound has since hardened into faster, harder club material pulling in breakbeat, rave and techon, matching the peak-time pressure of his sets rather than the murkier tone that first got him noticed.

Alexander runs his own label and hosts a regular show on Rinse FM, bringing in guests for mixes. In 2020 he released the EP Share a View, remixing three tracks by the hardcore band Turnstile, an unusual crossover between his club sound and guitar music.

His debut album, What I Breathe, arrived in August 2022, broadening his catalogue beyond DJ tools into fuller compositions. As a DJ he remains known for long, high-energy sets drawn from that heavier end of his output, closer to a warehouse rave than a listening session.
