Mereba is a singer, songwriter, rapper and producer of Ethiopian-American background who grew up partly in Montgomery, Alabama, and later worked out of Atlanta and Los Angeles. She is a member of the Spillage Village collective alongside EARTHGANG and JID, and has contributed to its group releases.

Her own music blends R&B and soul with folk guitar and hip-hop phrasing, often built around her own production and delivered in a low, unforced voice. The album The Jungle Is the Only Way Out brought her wider attention, and she has continued to release solo work as well as appearing on collaborations with other artists.
