Nonpoint

1 festival played

South Florida crew who came up in the nu-metal years and simply never stopped touring — Elias Soriano's bark over groove-heavy riffing, two decades deep.

Nonpoint formed in South Florida in the late 1990s around vocalist Elias Soriano and drummer Robb Rivera, the two constants across a lineup that has otherwise turned over several times. Their major-label debut arrived at the turn of the 2000s, when the band was often filed alongside the nu-metal wave, though the writing leaned more on syncopated groove and Soriano's rhythmic, half-sung half-shouted delivery than on the genre's more obvious tics.

The best-known song in the catalogue is "Bullet with a Name," a staple of the live set for years, and the band also picked up a following for a heavy rearrangement of Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight." Nonpoint have released albums steadily across their run, largely independently in later years, and have built their reputation mainly through relentless touring rather than radio.
