The Warning
Three sisters from Monterrey out-rocking everyone — Mexico's hard-rock pride, a family band that grew into arena-grade virtuosity.
The Warning is a rock trio from Monterrey, Mexico, made up of sisters Daniela, Paulina and Alejandra Villarreal, on guitar and vocals, drums and vocals, and bass and keyboards respectively. They first drew attention as children through online videos of themselves covering rock songs, and have been performing together since around 2013.
Their music is straightforward hard rock and alternative rock: riff-driven, tightly arranged, with three-part vocals and a rhythm section that carries much of the weight. The sisters write their own material and sing largely in English. After several years of independent releases they signed with Lava/Republic, and their playing has drawn attention from established rock musicians and audiences well beyond Mexico.
