Sultan + Shepard are the Canadian duo of Ossama Al Sarraf and Ned Shepard, who worked for years as Sultan + Ned Shepard before shortening the name. They built an early reputation in progressive and electro house and as writers and producers for other artists, work that took them well outside dance music.

Their later output has moved toward slower, melodic house and downtempo, with long-form releases and sets structured as gradual arcs rather than sequences of peaks. Warm synth pads, restrained percussion and vocal fragments are recurring features, and much of this material has appeared through Anjunadeep.
