Bristol's hushed jazz-ambient miniatures — trip-hop's gentlest descendants, small songs that rewire a room's attention, quiet music with total gravity.

Tara Clerkin Trio are a Bristol group centred on singer Tara Clerkin, working in a quiet, unhurried space between jazz, ambient and post-rock. Their music is assembled from small parts — brushed percussion, muted keys, double bass, fragments of tape and field recording — with Clerkin's voice often used more as texture than as a lead line.

The results are short, loosely structured pieces that drift rather than build, and they sit recognisably in a Bristol lineage that runs through the city's dub and trip-hop history without borrowing its beats. Their releases have appeared on the World of Echo label.
