Australian four-piece playing scrappy, funny, hook-heavy rock with a real live spark — Canberra mates with festival-sized charm.

Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers formed in July 2015 at the Orana Steiner School in Weston, Canberra, when its members were 15-year-old students. The band went through the names Vinyl Fluid and Dandelion and the Enigmas before settling on its current one, coined by guitarist Scarlett McKahey's uncle.

The lineup settled as vocalist Anna Ryan, guitarist Scarlett McKahey, drummer Neve van Boxsel and bassist Jaida Stephenson, playing guitar-driven indie rock and punk with pop-leaning choruses, short songs and lyrics that mix frustration and humour about friendship, work and growing up.

Their debut EP, Pretty Good for a Girl Band, came out in 2022 through Domestic La La and won Best Independent Punk Album or EP at the 2023 AIR Awards. Their debut album, I Love You, followed in 2023 and reached number 6 on the ARIA Albums Chart, with an expanded edition, I Love You Too, released in 2024.

The band opened for Foo Fighters across Australia in 2023. Around the same time, McKahey took a touring hiatus due to postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, with Meg Holland filling in and later staying on as rhythm guitarist. In 2025 the band was invited to open for Pearl Jam on an American tour.

Their most recent album, Glory, was released in November 2025.
