Bradford quartet who turned scruffy Yorkshire riffs into genuine chart pop with 'Tequila' and 'Perseverance' — decades of daft, durable rock with the choruses intact.

Terrorvision formed in Bradford, West Yorkshire in 1987, and spent the 1990s bridging the gap between British hard rock and mainstream pop radio. Their sound leans on chunky, unfussy guitar riffs, but the songs are built around choruses designed to be shouted back, and Tony Wright's vocals carry a broad Yorkshire accent that the band never sanded down. Singles including "Tequila", "Perseverance", "Oblivion" and "Alice, What's the Matter?" put them on British television and radio during the Britpop years, though they sat slightly apart from that scene. The band split in the turn of the 2000s but later reformed and has continued to play live, with a catalogue of songs that tend to be remembered as much for their humour as their volume.
