Thee Sinseers
East LA souldies revivalists — slow-burning, string-laden Chicano soul straight out of the lowrider-oldies tradition, dedicated to the slow dance.
Thee Sinseers come from Los Angeles and are led by singer and songwriter Joey Quiñones, who writes, plays and produces much of the group's material. Their sound draws on the Chicano soul and 'oldies' tradition of Southern California — slow ballads, triplet-feel rhythms, organ, and close harmony — presented in a deliberately vintage recording style.
Like several acts in that scene, they have released through Penrose Records, and their songs are staples of the lowrider oldies circuit that keeps 1960s soul in circulation in East LA and beyond.
