Blown-out bedroom emo recorded past the point of clipping — melodies buried in noise that hit harder for having to be dug out.

Weatherday is the solo project of a Swedish musician who records under the name Sputnik, working alone and largely at home. The 2019 album Come In circulated first through online music communities and became something of a cult record, built from distorted guitars, drum machines and vocals pushed well past clean levels, with melodies audible underneath the saturation.

The songs draw on emo, noise pop and lo-fi indie rock, and often run long, shifting between quiet passages and sudden bursts of volume. A second album, Hornet Disaster, followed in 2024.
