Chevelle

1 festival played

Illinois band led by the Loeffler brothers, three decades deep in heavy, tightly coiled alt-metal — 'The Red' and 'Send the Pain Below' still doing the work.

Chevelle formed in the Chicago suburbs in the mid-1990s around brothers Pete Loeffler on guitar and vocals and Sam Loeffler on drums. The band broke through with the album Wonder What's Next and its single "The Red," followed by "Send the Pain Below," and has continued releasing records across two decades. The sound is built on drop-tuned riffs, restrained verses and heavy choruses, with Pete Loeffler's vocals shifting between a clean upper register and a harder edge. Chevelle is usually described in terms of alternative metal and hard rock, and has remained a consistent touring act.
