CVC are a six-piece from Church Village, a village between Cardiff and Pontypridd in south Wales, and take their name from the initials of the place. Their music draws openly on 1970s rock and soft rock: layered vocal harmonies shared across several singers, twin guitars, electric piano and a loose, unhurried groove. They signed to Communion Records and their debut album Get Real appeared in 2023. Reviewers have tended to place them alongside the American canon they borrow from rather than any current British scene, and the band's reputation rests largely on playing live, where the harmony parts and extended guitar passages are reproduced by the full line-up.
