Flosstradamus began in Chicago in 2006 as a DJ duo of Josh Young and Curt Cameruci, initially working from the city's juke and footwork traditions alongside hip-hop and indie edits. The pair became central to the rise of trap in dance music, building sets around slow-tempo 808 patterns, sharp snare rolls and rap acapellas, and their "HDYNATION" branding grew into a recognisable identity among festival crowds. Young departed in 2016, and Cameruci has continued the project since.
