Popes of Chillitown are a UK ska-punk band formed in 2009, mixing upstroke guitar and horn lines with dub basslines, reggae rhythms and a fast, wordy vocal delivery closer to toasting than conventional singing. They have worked almost entirely within Britain's DIY punk network, self-releasing records and playing small venues and independent promoters' bills over a long stretch of years.
