Charlie Harper still fronting one of punk's most relentlessly touring institutions, an album for nearly every letter of the alphabet.

UK Subs formed in London in 1977 around singer Charlie Harper, and are one of the longest-running bands of the first wave of British punk. Their early singles and albums fed into the UK charts at the turn of the 1980s, and the group has kept a punishing touring schedule for most of its existence, cycling through a large number of players around Harper. Their studio albums have famously been titled alphabetically, beginning with Another Kind of Blues, an approach that has run through the band's whole catalogue. The music has stayed close to fast, straightforward punk rock and rhythm-and-blues-inflected rock and roll, with Harper's voice the constant.
