Coined 'heaven trap' and then spent a decade proving it was a real thing — gospel-sized drops with genuine ache.

Slander is the Los Angeles duo of Derek Andersen and Scott Land, who began working together around 2010. Their music sits between trap, dubstep and melodic bass, built around big vocal hooks and long, emotive builds — a combination they labelled "heaven trap" early on, and one that has since become a common template in American festival bass music.

With NGHTMRE they founded the Gud Vibrations label and event series, and the two acts have collaborated repeatedly. Slander's best-known track is "Love Is Gone", recorded with Dylan Matthew, which found a large audience well beyond dance music.
