The Fall of Troy formed in Mukilteo, Washington in 2002, with Thomas Erak on guitar and vocals leading a trio that also drew on bass and drums for a dense, constantly shifting sound. Their music sits between mathcore, post-hardcore and progressive rock: rapid finger-tapped guitar figures, abrupt tempo and meter changes, screamed and sung vocals traded within the same song, and pop melodies buried inside technically demanding arrangements.
The band became widely known through the mid-2000s post-hardcore scene, particularly for the track 'F.C.P.R.E.M.I.X.' They broke up at the end of the 2000s decade and later reunited, continuing to record and tour.
