The Meffs are a punk two-piece from Colchester in Essex, formed in 2019, with a line-up of guitar and vocals alongside drums. Their songs are short, fast and largely political, taking aim at British austerity, the police and local grievances, and they are sung in a broad Essex accent rather than a transatlantic one.
The band came up through DIY venues and independent punk labels in the UK, building a following through relentless touring and a live show that leans on humour between the songs as much as on volume during them.
