Vaski is a producer from Minneapolis who came up during the first American surge of dubstep in the late 2000s, when the sound was spreading from UK clubs into US bass music circles. His work leans on heavy, distorted mid-range basslines and half-time drums, the aggressive strain of the genre rather than its darker, sparser roots. He built his reputation on a run of releases and remixes circulated in that early scene, and has continued producing as dubstep's American branch evolved around him.
