Alter Bridge

1 festival played

Mark Tremonti's riffs and Myles Kennedy's range built into two decades of arena-scale hard rock — a post-Creed project that long outgrew that framing.

Alter Bridge formed in Florida in 2004 when guitarist Mark Tremonti, drummer Scott Phillips and bassist Brian Marshall, all previously of Creed, joined with singer and guitarist Myles Kennedy. Tremonti's riff writing and Kennedy's high, sustained tenor became the group's defining pair of traits, applied to hard rock songs that often stretch toward metal in their guitar work and toward arena balladry in their choruses.

The band's catalogue runs from One Day Remains through albums such as Blackbird, AB III, Fortress and Pawns & Kings, with "Metalingus" and "Blackbird" among the songs most closely identified with them. Kennedy has also fronted Slash's solo band throughout much of the same period.
