Beach Bunny began in Chicago in 2015 as a solo outlet for songwriter Lili Trifilio before expanding into a full band. The music is fast, melodic guitar-pop with roots in power pop and pop-punk, and lyrics that deal frankly with body image, self-doubt and the mechanics of young relationships.
The group's early EPs circulated online, and "Prom Queen" found a large audience through social media, which pushed the band from local shows to national touring. Their subsequent albums have kept the same combination of bright arrangements and unguarded writing.
