Atlanta crunk-rock — dance-punk silliness played entirely straight and very loud, a MySpace-era party that never acknowledged the era ended.

Family Force 5 formed in Atlanta in the early 2000s around a group of brothers, and built their sound from a mixture of Southern hip-hop rhythms, dance-punk and hard rock — a combination the band themselves labelled crunk rock. They emerged through the Christian rock and alternative circuit of the mid-2000s and became known for costumed, high-energy live shows and songs written around chant-along hooks. Later releases shifted further toward electronic pop and dance production while keeping the same emphasis on party material.
