Dusty, hip-hop-rooted electro-soul that would sound at home on a boom-bap record if you slowed it down — Atlanta sample-craft in the Pretty Lights lineage.

Daily Bread is the project of Atlanta-based producer Rhett Whatley, working in a sample-driven electro-soul style rooted in hip-hop production. The tracks are built from chopped soul and funk material, dusty drum programming and low, warm bass, and the tempos and swing often sit closer to instrumental hip-hop than to dance music, which places him in the broader lineage of producers like Pretty Lights.

He is a prolific releaser of albums and EPs, and his live sets combine that catalogue with remixes and edits. He has been a fixture of the American livetronica and electronic-soul circuit for a number of years.
